Radiology Associates Extends Teleradiology Services with MSK Subspecialist

The field of radiology continues to expand with new developments in imaging technologies, and physicians are increasingly dependent on radiological services in order to form diagnoses. As the demand for radiologists to assess disease and help stage treatment continues to grow, so does the subset practice of teleradiology. Teleradiology utilizes today’s advanced communication systems to enable remote image interpretation, diagnostic evaluation and professional collaboration through online image sharing, real-time video conferencing and direct linking with clinics and hospitals. Telerad gives more hospitals, physicians and patients – even those in remote areas – the benefit of subspecializing radiologists and state-of-the-art technologies for superior accuracy, convenience and rapid diagnoses.

To meet increasing demand, Radiology Associates is expanding its teleradiology team with the addition of Dr. Jasim Alidina. Dr. Alidina graduated from the University of Florida College of Agriculture and Life Sciences with a Bachelor of Science degree in food science and human nutrition. He earned his medical degree from the University of Central Florida College of Medicine, where he received the University Scholar Award while completing his internship.

Dr. Alidina served a preliminary residency at Elmhurst Hospital Center’s Department of Medicine in Queens, and a residency in radiology at Harlem Hospital Center in NYC, a Level I trauma center. From there, he entered the University of Miami, where he is presently completing a fellowship in musculoskeletal (MSK) diagnostic imaging. Dr. Alidina utilizes a wide range of technologies to diagnose MSK disease and injury, including ultrasound, CT and fluoroscopy. He performs therapeutic procedures such as arthrography, calcium tendinopathy treatment, ganglion cyst aspiration, therapeutic and diagnostic joint injection and aspiration, peripheral nerve blocks, and tumor biopsy, embolization and ablation.

Dr. Alidina has contributed to a number of presentations and published papers on subjects including CT imaging, impingement syndromes, platelet rich plasma pain injections and others. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Radiology and other professional medical organizations. Dr. Alidina is committed to diagnostic accuracy and attentive collaboration, both in person and via teleconferencing. Radiology Associates is pleased to announce Dr. Alidina’s addition to its teleradiology team.
