Daytona Beach, Florida (May, 2021) – Radiology Associates' Thomas J. Yuschok, MD, FACR, was awarded a Fellowship degree from the American College of Radiology (ACR) as part of its May 2021 convocation. Dr. Yuschok, who is Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology, Nuclear Radiology and Nuclear Cardiology, has been a practicing radiologist for more than three decades. ACR Fellowship designates special recognition to those members "in good standing who have demonstrated service to ACR; evidenced significant accomplishments in scientific or clinical research in the field of radiology; made significant contributions to literature; and/or provided outstanding work as a teacher of radiology." Fellowship status is an honor awarded to only 10% of ACR members.

This degree is a highlight among many in Dr. Yuschok's venerated career. After graduating from Pennsylvania State Medical School and completing an internship at York Hospital, Dr. Yuschok served his residency as Chief Resident in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Florida before continuing on to complete a Fellowship in Nuclear Medicine.

Dr. Yuschok joined Radiology Imaging Associates in 1990, where he established SPECT imaging and introduced advanced nuclear imaging examinations to Volusia County. A pioneer in molecular imaging, he performed the region's first PET scan in 1995 and had the first time-of-flight PET/CT scanner in the state of Florida. Recognized as an expert in Nuclear Imaging and PET, Dr. Yuschok has spoken nationally on these and other modalities. He also served as Medical Director of the Nuclear Medicine Technologist School at Halifax Medical Center.

Dr. Yuschok has earned honors outside his vocation as well, including United Way Volunteer of the Year and Boy Scouts' Scouting Alumni of the Year. He is a recipient of the National Outstanding Eagle Scout Award. Active in the community, Dr. Yuschok has served as President of Volusia County Medical Society, Senior Warden of St. James Episcopal Church and President of Central Florida Council Boy Scouts of America.

An accomplished multi-instrumentalist, Dr. Yuschok can be heard playing with local bands, including the Docs of Jazz and the Treblemakers.

"Of the many accomplishments I have undertaken, ACR Fellowship stands among those I value the most since it is a recognition conferred by one’s peers,” says Dr. Yuschok. "It is a privilege to be recognized and honored by the industry's most distinguished and revered institution."
