Visiting a medical imaging facility can sometimes be unsettling, especially for a new patient or for someone returning for follow-up studies. That’s why your role as a family member, friend, or caregiver is so important. You can play a major role in their health care outcome. Regardless of the results, simply knowing that you’re there by their side can make all the difference in the world.
Every Radiology Associates Imaging Center is designed with our patients’ comfort and well-being in mind. Our extensively trained and board certified physicians are on site and available to answer questions that may arise during their visit. Plus, our specialized technologists are caring professionals who anticipate our patients’ needs. From the moment you and your friend enter a Radiology Associates Imaging Center, you’ll see and feel the difference.
Here are a few ideas that can help you help your family member or friend have a comfortable, carefree visit. And please - if you have any questions or concerns, simply pick up the phone and call the Center nearest you.
Making the Most of Your Visit
- Make sure the patient is prepared with all necessary paperwork…driver’s license, insurance card, past films/reports (if available or necessary - see Services and Procedures for more information), and the referring doctor’s orders (if available - a copy may have been sent directly to the Center by the referring physician’s office). Having all paperwork in order and ready to go insures a quick and easy check-in process.
- Take time to review information about the exam prior to the scheduled appointment. Showing that you're familiar with the procedure will give your friend and family extra peace of mind. For information on an exam or preparation instructions for an exam, simply click on Services and Procedures.
- If the patient (or you) has small children, please make other arrangements for their care while you are at the Center. Although we love children, we cannot be responsible for their safety or well-being.
